I would like to introduce - Momma Mia. She is a new resident here at the Ranch. Momma Mia is a mother to be. She could be having her babies any day. Momma has had at least one liter that we know of already. She had two babies a boy and a girl. Now Momma's hair looks like it was cut or barbered. I do believe she might have longer hair. I will add more pictures to keep everyone up to date. We are all very excited here at the Ranch . We have not had any babies born here. Keep fingers and toes crossed that all goes well.

Momma Mia is getting bigger and bigger daily. We were worried she looked quite thin besides the ever growing belly bulge. She is filling in very nicely now.
I found out some very helpful information on guinea pig pregnancy. THANK YOU Guinea Lynx !!!!
- Did you know gestation for guinea pigs is 59 to 73 days??
- Did you know a female can get pregnant again 2 to 15 hrs. immediately after delivering?
This poor girl !!!!
We were hoping for a small liter of 1 to 3 but I don't think so.

We have 5 beautiful babies !!! 8 were delivered all total.
We believe they were born some time after 4:30 but before 6:00 a.m.
One of the deceased babies was malformed. It's back legs were not fully developed. I was very sad for all of us to find 3 gone. God rest their little souls ! They were loved even if we did not get a chance to enjoy them !
Our Momma Mia seems to be doing very well ! We are so happy to see she was able to get through this. We all were very worried about her health. She is doing great with 5 chasing after her !!!

This little guy is our only male out of the group.
They will be two weeks old tomorrow. We have lovingly named him Tank. Tank already has a loving home waiting for him. He will have a new friend to keep him company.
The girls are quite vocal . They love to popcorn all about-- Very fun to watch. Momma Mia is doing really well and can't wait to have some quiet time. I am amazed how loving and docile she is.
This has been such a great experience for my family. The waiting , the worrying, the joy and the sadness. It was all so worth it. Guinea pigs are amazing loving creatures. I am so glad they are part of my families life.

Update : Momma Mia is doing relly good ! She is a very sweet loving piggy. All her babies have found loving homes. Thank You to everyone who has sent e-mails or made phone calls.
Please Please Please - When you decide to take a guinea pig into your home /family , check the sex of your guinea pig. People make mistakes honestly and not so honestly.
